Camera Less Photography

A recent visit to Victoria And Albert museum has helped me a lot with the development of my project. The exhibition Shadow catchers : Camera less photography has truly been extremely inspiring.
The reason is because although I knew that photography has been one of the mediums extremely attach to my topic, I never thought of using it completely different and how other people share the same questions and interest in things.
An example is photographer Susan Derges, one of the photographers exhibiting at VnA at the moment. Her work is so close to my ideas (her concept that is). She explains that photography is looking at absent moments, that they are no longer there. So it is quite a lot I think to do with loss as well as holding and showing, in her own words.
So one of my ideas is to try to push my self into this direction (event though I hesitate in the beginning) and explore new mediums within photography. Long exposure has been a very close friend of mine recently and I have treated "her" with love as well, but it's time to move on I think to more experimental techniques.

Unfortuantely I could not show the original video as shown at the VnA 'cause its set to private, but this one (even in german!!) shows exactly what her work is about.

This is the actual link to VnA's web page if you want to visit.

What Susan Derges does is that she uses photographic paper tracing water with the use of a flash light.
